Product details

An ivory crane worked in gold at every seat, holding your guest's name. Each one is folded by hand from Japanese yuzen washi — cream ground, gold florals, a trace of grey-green — and holds a place card, an escort card, a menu or a table number.

This is the formal one. Gold on ivory belongs with white linen, crystal and candlelight, and it is the color to choose for a black-tie reception or a hotel ballroom. It carries a table that has no flowers on it at all.

Yuzen washi is patterned sheet by sheet, so the pattern falls differently on every bird. No two cranes in your set will be identical. Up close you can see the fibres in the paper and the way the gold catches as the light moves across the table.

Most guests take theirs home at the end of the night. A place card holder usually ends up in the bin; this one does not.

They are made for weddings, but they work anywhere a table needs names — a rehearsal dinner, an anniversary, a christening, a long dinner at home, a private room in a restaurant.

What people say

In their own words.

A wedding at the Japanese gardens

★★★★★

“Thank you so much for helping to make my daughter's wedding absolutely perfect!! The paper cranes were a huge hit, and the perfect compliment to her celebration at the Japanese gardens. You were truly a pleasure to work with, and I could not be more pleased with our cranes!! From the way you went out of your way to get special patterns to match her wedding theme colors, to making sure we had them on time (all the way from Japan!!), to the quality of the packing and the cranes themselves - flawless!! Thanks again for everything.”

Wendy · Etsy review, September 2026

“I love the minimal use of plastic in packaging, opting to wrap in recycled fabric. The little gifts were definitely icing on the cake. Thank you so very much Rui! I love everything!”

Aileen · Etsy review, August 2025

“the item was shipped in time from Japan. We experiences big delays with the USPS delivery system, but the seller was extremely helpful and communicative throughout the entire process. Would buy from her again!”
